Don Bosco Image Film School hosted a four-day AI Filmmaking Workshop from January 23 to January 26, led by animation director and AI artist Dennis A. Francis. The workshop introduced students and aspiring filmmakers to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in modern filmmaking.
Over the four days, participants explored how AI tools can support different stages of the filmmaking process, including idea generation, script development, visual planning, and post-production workflows. The sessions combined conceptual understanding with practical demonstrations, allowing students to experiment with emerging AI-powered creative tools.
A major focus of the workshop was understanding how AI can enhance the filmmaker’s creative process rather than replace it. Through hands-on exercises and interactive discussions, students learned how technology can be used to visualize ideas quickly, experiment with visual styles, and streamline aspects of production.
Dennis A. Francis also shared insights from his professional experience working with animation, CGI, and AI-assisted media creation, encouraging participants to see AI as a powerful creative collaborator in the evolving landscape of cinema.
The workshop concluded with participants presenting the concepts and visual experiments they developed during the sessions. The initiative reflects Don Bosco Film School’s commitment to equipping aspiring filmmakers with knowledge of emerging technologies and preparing them for the future of storytelling in the digital age.
