A four-day Swik series workshop on Writing for Screen and Filmmaking was held at Don Bosco IMAGE from August 12th-15th. The workshop was led by screenwriter and director M C Jithin and his team. Guest speakers included screenwriters Devadath Shaji, Suhas and Sharfu, Krishand and Vimal Gopalakrishnan. In the workshop, participants learned how to create powerful visual images, semiotics in screenwriting, the anatomy of thrillers, the evolution of screenplays, how to pitch their content, and how to use artificial intelligence in their writing. The participants were from diverse backgrounds; there were software engineers, designers, actors, writers, and doctors, united by a passion for cinema. The morning sessions featured talks and interactions with the speakers and the afternoon sessions were for movie screening and analysis. During the four-day workshop, aspiring screenwriters gained valuable insights into the practical side of writing for the screen and were able to benefit from the experiences shared by industry insiders.
